Photovoltaic system for lower CO₂ emissions

Reishauer has commissioned its first large photovoltaic system at its grinding wheel plant in Pfaffnau (CH). 1500 modules on a roof area of over 3000m2 provide a projected output of 670,000 kWh per year. The energy-intensive kilns are thus operated with up to 40% purely from solar energy. The surplus solar power is fed into the grid. This avoids 390 tons of CO2 per year and also strengthens Reishauer's competitiveness in the face of rising energy costs.

Solar systems on an even larger scale are also being planned at Reishauer's headquarters and will be installed in the new production halls currently under construction in Wallisellen (CH).
