With the introduction of the RS 300 hard skiving machine, Reishauer establishes itself with a highly specialized, in-house developed, and perfectly coordinated solution for the highly productive hard finishing of gears for future transmission designs.
Although skiving was invented over 100 years ago, it is still considered a relatively new process. The reasons why this high-performance process has only slowly found its way into production are technical in nature: as a continuous machining process with a geometrically defined cutting edge, the rapidly alternating forces on the skiving tool present particular challenges. Therefore, the development of high-performance cutting materials, machines, workholding devices, and process simulations requires a high level of technical expertise covering all individual areas.
